Tracey

Tracey is a Vocal Coach specialising in Contemporary Jazz Style, voice technique, Song Interpretation, Vocal Arrangement and Performance Practice. Based near Bath, UK, Tracey gives singing lessons in English to adult learner from Beginner to Professional levels.

Tracey specialises in teaching contemporary jazz vocal stylistics, interpretation of jazz standards and phrasing. Focusing on performance preparation with a student-centred approach, Tracey brings to the table a first-hand experience of performance, songwriting and arrangement, knowledge of different genres, and a playfulness that aids learning and improvisation, putting the student at ease. Always listening to the student's needs, she loves sharing her skill and joy of singing.

Growing up in the US, Tracey sang in semi-professional children's choirs, performing in musicals, concerts, with orchestras and on TV. Later, she studied jazz vocal technique with Tina May and Anita Wardell in France, and Joan Davis in the UK. She also studied film composition at Westminster via Trinity College in London, and has composed for media projects.

Tracey's pop-jazz duo Tracey & Jason plays at venues and festivals around the UK, and featured on BBC Radio with Bond cover "You Only Live Twice" ("Absolutely wonderful!" Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2), "Walk Into The Room" and others. She's also sung with an 18-piece big band, performing a catalogue of jazz standards and the Great American Songbook, as well as in theatre productions, including two new plays at the Ustinov in Bath.
